I am the camp's Water Safety Instructor, Head l Lifeguard, and Personal Trainer from Newton, MA. I attended Stonehill College and Boston College's Carroll School of Business as an accounting major., I hold a Master of Education Degree and teach at a middle school during the academic year. I have extensive experience working with children and coaching. I was the captain of both my high school's Division one varsity basketball & volleyball teams (Newton North and have coached a high school AAU basketball team (Middlesex Magic). I continue to train athletes at the Newton YMCA. I received a lot of my swim training while life-guarding for Harvard University during college. I grew up attending the camp and really enjoyed it.

Meet Liam, a key member of Murray Camp Nantucket. Having grown up attending Murray Camp, Liam understands the value of our community and the evolution of the Camp's operations. With a Business degree from Wheaton College, where he captained the men's basketball team, Liam excels in fostering teamwork and engagement among our young attendees. As the founder of ACK Eats (now Delivery.com) and MVEats.com, he connects people on Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard to local food and grocery delivery. Additionally, he is a licensed Real Estate Agent and the GM of a new vacation rental booking platform NantucketRentals.com.
Liam enjoys teaching children basketball skills, water safety classes, and lifeguard skills. His local knowledge, business acumen, and dedication to youth development ensures a supportive, fun-filled environment at Murray Camp. He looks forward to making this summer an unforgettable experience for all campers.

I am a graduate of Babson College from Boston. After working several years in corporate finance, I am returning to my true passion of working with little ones. I have experience with HeadStart, Cradles to Crayons, and Operation Warm. I have extensive experience working with children with disabilities via the Vinfen Organization.I enjoy traveling, yoga and hiking. I am delighted to be on Nantucket working with my Minnow friends as the coordinator for the Minnows Group.

I absolutely love camp and attended a sleep away camp in Maine for seven years. I am really looking forward to getting to spend the summer in Nantucket with my family and sharing my joy of summer camp with all the Murray Camp campers again this summer!

Hi! My name is Natalia and i'm a junior at UWC Atlantic College, a boarding school in Wales, but I live in Brookline, MA. My three siblings and I grew up atending Murray Camp since I can remember and I super excited to spend my 2nd summer as a counselor. I love going to the beach and skiing as well as playing volleyball and lacrosse. I have lots of experience with children through babysitting and I am looking forward to seeing everyone again and having a great summer!

I love playing volleyball, going to the beach, spending time with friends, and being active! This will be my fourth year as a camp counselor, but my first at Murray Camp. I have been coming to Nantucket my entire life and am so excited for this summer at camp!! I can't wait to meet all of the campers and to make this an amazing summer for them!

Hi! My name is Chelsea Gross, I’m a local who lives on Nantucket year-round and I’m a rising senior. You’ll often see me out on the soccer field, as I play on a team off-island. I love living on Nantucket and working with kids — both bring me so much joy! I also love to travel. This summer will be my first year working at Murray Camp, and I’m beyond excited to meet everyone and have an amazing summer!

I have been going to Murray Camp, both as a camper and CIT, since I was 4, and I have always had such a great experience. I also have a lot of experience with babysitting. I have been coming to Nantucket every summer since I was a baby, and have attended Murray camp as a camper and a CIT throughout my youth. I enjoy playing tennis and lacrosse, darkroom photography, hanging out with my friends at the beach, and volunteering at my local animal shelter. I am very excited to spend another summer at Murray Camp!

From Campers
to Counselors...
Murray Camp is such a mainstay in the life of those who summer on Nantucket that many of our campers become our counselors! All of our counselors have had experience with babysitting and most are First Aid Certified, CPR Certified, and are certified Life Guards.

In addition to our full-time staff, we subcontract three lifeguards from the Nantucket Community School Pool, the crew of the sailing vessel Endeavor, the staff of Ack Surf School and the Absolute fishing vessel staff.

The Friendship Sloop Endeavor has been offering sailing charters in Nantucket for over 30 years. The Endeavor is a Coast Guard Certified Vessel inspected each spring by the United States Coast Guard. The crew of the Endeavor is required by the Coast Guard to participate in a random drug-testing program. The route the Endeavor takes is typically out through the Jetties and in the Nantucket Sound. The vessel is no more than three miles from shore at any point in the trip. Captain James Genthner has been operating the Endeavor in Nantucket for the entire 30 years. He is a Coast Guard Licensed Captain who has been sailing for over 30 years. Jim and his wife, Sue Genthner, reside on the island year round, where they raised their two children.
In accordance with Massachusetts law, Murray Camp performs full background checks on all counselors and employees of the camp - including CORI and SORI checks.
