CAmp Registration will open online via this website on 2/1/22. Camp will run for the 8 weeks of 6/27/22-8/19/22 for children ages 4-14 ( CIT ages 13 & 14). We are so looking forward to celebrating our 34th summer of Murray Camp this summer.
We share your Excitement in returning to a wonderful Nantucket summer!!!
We have made very few changes in operating the camp over the past 33 years. our priority has always been the safety of the children in our care but in addition, we prioritize nurturing their development and creating an environment in which "Fun" is our objective! It is the key to happy, confident children. we integrate activities to community build and frequently have discussions about our many strengths and challenges. Between our swimming lessons, tennis instruction, ice skating, soccer games, water sports and Art classes in a multitude of mediums (to name a few), we are so exited to see our campers so proud of themselves as they acquire these gross AND FINE motor skills while flourishing in developing friendships with peers and continue to increase their social skills.
A Typical Day at Murray Camp!
We are licensed annually by the Nantucket Board of Health and are in close contact with them throughout the summer.
We are monitoring the Omicron Covid situation closely. We will be updating and
emailing out our Covid-19 manual closer to camp's opening to include details regarding our prevention plans.
We will post any new developments regarding updated camp information on this home page.
Due to the Omicron virus and its current contagion factor, we are reducing the number of campers INITIALLY accepted this summer but plan to quickly clear waitlisted campers as soon as we are comfortable with news of this virus diminishing, which I am optimistic will be the case. With an intelligent respect for science, we hope to arrive at an improved understanding of this virus.
We will continue to work closely with Maria Mitchell, and the Nantucket Historical Association to continue to access all of their great outdoor programs as well as Nantucket Ice, the Recreation department and the Community School. The island has always been our SUMMER playground IN WHICH WE ARE OUTDOORS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS THOUGHOUT THE DAY. we EVEN BEGAN HAVING OUR arts' CLASSES OUTDOORS LAST SUMMER TO AVOID RISKS OF THE VIRUS, in these uncertain times. we WILL CONTINUE THIS PLAN FOR THIS YEAR AT OUR NEW LOCATION; THE CHILDREN'S house Montessori school ON pheasant Drive.
I join our staff (The majority of them who grew up attending our camp as campers themselves) in extending our excitement in greeting our former campers and welcoming new campers this coming 2022 summer! we Can't wait to greet all of you!
